Babies, Presents and … what else is there?

January 10, 2008

Matt and I had a great Christmas break this past year. We spent quality time with family and friends and got a lot of needed rest. A few highlights from our break are:

My sister-in-law, Norma and brother Steve had their baby! Ezekiel Luke Garcia. He is sooo precious! And yes, he was early. But both he and Norma are healthy and adjusting well. He was 4.7lbs and 17 inches.

Matt’s sister, Heidi and her husband Joseph came down from Canada to spend Christmas (plus a few extra days) with the fam. It’s always nice to have them around.

Although he didn’t get it under the Christmas tree, Matt got a wii for Christmas. My mom will be bringing it in a week or so. We’re very excited!

After Christmas, Matt and I came back home to Pasadena. We’ve been here a year and a half and have never seen the Rose Parade–so this year we did! Our friends, Cody and Anna, camped out the whole night to reserve spots. Not just any spots… Front row!! Matt and I visited them around 1:30am and then came back around 5:30am to help save seats. It was well worth it! Cold… but in the end, worth it!

I’ve started work again (go Spartans!) and Matt is back at school.  I’m counting down the days until I leave on my Maternity leave. Speaking of my pregnancy, just took my gestational diabetes test on Tuesday and I’m glad to announce that I do not have gestational diabetes. I did met my new Dr. (my first Dr is on maternity leave. She’s having TWINS!) I have yet to decide if I like the new Dr. She doesn’t have very good bedside manner. And isn’t as friendly. But I’ll only see her a few more times–so I’m sure I can deal.

That’s the update for now. Nothing too interesting or blog worthy to write about. But I did promise to keep this thing updated. So there it is. Hope you’re new year is a good one!
