Jackson David Lloyd

March 23, 2008

Here’s a few pics from the past 5 days!  I’m in the process of writing out the “story” of Jackson’s birth so here is what I have so far.  If you really need the rest of the details you can always give us a call!

Sara and I had our Dr.’s appointment at 9:30am at Kaiser in Baldwin Park, CA (about 25-30 minutes drive depending on day/time). The previous few days Sara had been looking fairly swollen (moreso than in previous weeks) and we completely miserable with a sinus cold/allergies. We arrive at the Dr.’s and immediately she notices the puffiness around Sara’s eyes and extremities. For the first time her blood pressure was elevated and her urine had a 3+ protein count. All of these signs pointed towards preclamsia.

Over the past 2 weeks Sara and gained about 17 lbs., all of which were from retaining water. Our Dr. sent us over to the Labor & Delivery ward around of the hospital around 10:30am and informed us there was a good chance our baby would be born within the next few days. I can’t say this came as a complete surprise as we had both thought Jackson would arrive at least a week, if not 2 weeks early. Lucky for us we did have the carseat in the car…except our overnight bag was still sitting in our bedroom. So there we are, sitting in “Birthing Room 8″ and we meet the nicest nurse either of us had ever met. Her name was Tessie and played a huge part in relieving our nerves and answer the many questions we had.

More to come….
